The Las Vegas Raiders are in familiar territory.  With a 2-4 start to the 2024 NFL season and drama going on in the locker room, can head coach Antonio Pierce find a way to get things turned around like he did when he took over as interim coach in the 2023 NFL season?

Following the DeVante Adams trade, the Raiders can either turn the season around or continue to sell off pieces as they look forward to the 2025 NFL Draft where they could be in the mix to land one of the top quarterbacks in the class.  With Maxx Crosby beefing on the sideline and not wanting to be a part of a rebuild, the Raiders will have to decide quickly what kind of team they want to be through the remainder of the season.

A bright spot is that they do have Brock Bowers emerging as a top playmaker in the league.  If they can find a quarterback either via trade or through the draft, the Raiders could have a quick turnaround.  Is a player like Crosby willing to stick around to see how that plays out?

However, the rest of the season turns out for the Raiders, they have glaring needs that can be upgraded through the draft.

Even if second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell settles in at quarterback the remainder of the season, the Raiders should be in the mix for one of the top QB prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.  Some intriguing names are Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Georgia’s Carson Beck and Miami’s Cam Ward.  A couple of names that could be there when the Raiders select at No. 11 is Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Texas QB Quinn Ewers.  Any of those five QB’s would be interesting names to watch for Vegas.

The Raiders will also be looking to upgrade the secondary.  Given where they are selecting in the first round, a couple of interesting names jump out in Ohio State’s Denzel Burke and Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison.

Some other positions of need for the Raiders will at wide receiver, offensive line and depending on what happens with Crosby, they could be looking to add to the pass rush. Here is an early-season look at what general manager Tom Telesco and the Raiders will do in this three-round NFL Mock Draft.
