Jaguars Execute Notable NFL Trade Following Week 6 Blowout Loss

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ nightmarish start to the 2024 NFL season continued on Sunday morning as Trevor Lawrence and company notched their fifth loss of the year. In an overseas matchup against the Chicago Bears at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Jags suffered a 35-16 loss – dropping their 2024 season record to 1-5. With any hopes of a playoff run now essentially dashed, it appears the organization is looking to mitigate its losses and look forward to the future of the franchise. The Jaguars completed a trade with the Seahawks on Monday, sending veteran defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris to Seattle in exchange for a 2026 late-round draft pick.

“The sides are still finalizing the deal. Once it’s done, it’ll be the first NFL trade since the #Chargers acquired Taylor Heinicke on Aug. 28. The trade deadline is still 22 days away, but the dealing has begun,” NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported on Monday.

The Jaguars confirmed the move with an official statement.

Robertson-Harris appeared in six games and made two starts for the Jaguars this season, recording 2.0 sacks, four QB hits and seven tackles through that time on the field. The 31-year-old defensive lineman, who began his career with the Chicago Bears, is currently playing in his eighth NFL season. Head coach Doug Pederson and the Jaguars will look to stop the bleeding on their dreadful 2024 campaign in a Week 7 matchup against the New England Patriots this coming Sunday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are having a disappointing season, and it’s continuing in London against the Chicago Bears. The defense has given up over 30 points, while the offense hasn’t been able to get much going throughout the game. Fans are now angry at head coach Doug Pederson, and some of them probably want the Jaguars to leave him in London.

Firing doug pederson in between two london games and making him book his own travel home would be peak jags,” another user tweeted.

“Jacksonville should leave Doug Pederson and Trevor Lawrence in London,” a third user wrote.

For the Jaguars, they’ll be playing in London again next week against the New England Patriots, so if they wanted to fire Pederson, it might not be after this game.
