Ipswich Town: Who should replace Axel Tuanzebe at right-back?
One of the big talking points at Ipswich Town over the past week has been how to replace Axel Tuanzebe, who suffered a serious hand injury while washing up at home.
Seamus Coleman injury news shared for Everton v Ipswich Town Premier League clash
Seamus Coleman is unlikely to be ready to return from his injury for the Everton v Ipswich Town clash on 19 October at Portman Road, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while he was spotted with a member of the club’s backroom staff in training, he’s probably not yet back in full first-team training.
Along with Youssef Chermiti and Armando Brojoa, who are certainly ruled out, the 36-year-old is also not expected to be available for the game.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Coleman: “It sounds like he is getting closer to full team training but his rehab has also taken longer than anticipated.
“Therefore, his rehab and return to play runway might be longer in all phases.
“I still think it’s likely he will miss the first game back as the club may not want to rush him back unless they’re 100 per cent confident.“
Seamus Coleman is unlikely to be a regular for Everton this season
At 36, the Irish defender may be past his peak but he is still an influential member of the squad and Dyche won’t want to risk him being out much longer.
He’s already returning from an injury and had a major setback last season as well so the wear and tear will definitely have taken its toll.
It remains to be seen how many Premier League matches he features in this season and where he ranks in the pecking order with Nathan Patterson also now back in contention.
In other Everton news, never-seen-before footage has emerged of the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock with a ‘Big’ addition made.
