Will Raiders Owner Tom Brady Help Find Club’s Next QB?
Tom Brady knows better than anybody what it takes to rise above as a successful NFL quarterback. Can he help the Las Vegas Raiders find one?
The NFL officially approved Brady for a 5% ownership stake in the franchise Tuesday as he adds yet another tab to his football resume. He’ll have to make significant adjustments to his broadcast preparations for FOX, though Brady earns another opportunity to impact football. That leads to the question: where will he most impact the Raiders?
NFL Media’s Judy Battista floated a thought from Las Vegas owner Mark Davis following the approval of Brady’s ownership bid on Tuesday.
“Mark Davis on Tom Brady becoming a minority owners, says although Brady can’t play QB for them, he can help them select a QB in the future,” Battista shared on X.
The Raiders started this season 2-4, which currently has them in line for the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, per Tankathon. Davis’ comments suggests that if the Raiders move to free agency or the draft to find their next franchise quarterback, Brady would have at least some intake in the selection as well as the vetting process when meeting with potential fits.
For now, the Raiders prepare for a Week 7 matchup when they visit the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
The NY Jets made one of the most high-profile midseason trades the NFL has seen in years on Tuesday, acquiring star wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.
While the Adams trade is certainly good news for the Jets’ postseason hopes, it’s not necessarily good news for every player on the roster. One such player who now finds himself on the outside looking in is Mike Williams.
The former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver has become the odd man out in the Jets’ wide receiver room and is expected to be shopped ahead of next month’s trade deadline.
Not only that, but it seems very possible that Williams has already played his final game as a member of the Jets, at least according to a report from uSTADIUM.
The report states that not only are the Jets expected to trade Williams in the near future but that it’s possible he’s made a healthy scratch on Sunday if the team is not able to trade him before then. This aligns with similar reports about Williams’ expected departure.
