Wolves star Jonny tipped for Premier League move

Wolves star is finally back on the grass at Compton Park for the first time in months

Wolves currently have a number of long-term injury victims.

Wolves supporters are no strangers to players picking up serious knee injuries.

In recent times, a number of stars at Molineux have fallen victim to ACL injuries. Former full-back Jonny Castro Otto suffered two during his time at the club.

Winger Chiquinho, currently out on loan at Mallorca, sustained a really bad one in 2022.

And Enso Gonzalez also damaged his ACL earlier this year.

But one man unfortunately who knows about ACL injuries all too well is Sasa Kalajdzic. Kalajdzic sustained another ACL injury on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt back in February of this year.

That was the third of his career. But Wolves did drop some encouraging news about the striker yesterday.

Sasa Kalajzdic has been back on the grass at Compton

The Austria international is thought to be on course to return around the end of the year, having sustained his latest ACL injury back in February.

Kalajdzic himself recently admitted he’d like to play for Wolves this year, but it remains to be seen if that will be the case.

But the club’s head of high performance Phil Hayward seems pleased with his progress, as he confirmed the player is now back on the grass at Compton Park.

He said (via Wolves official): “Sasa’s getting towards the end. He’s back on the grass which is great for him – it’s great to see him back out there. He’s now starting to get to the more functional aspects of his rehab.

“Over the next few months we’ll be integrating more ball work into what he does and then hopefully get him back into training and matches in the not too distant future.”

Kalajdzic can still play a part for Wolves

It sounds as though Kalajdzic’s recovery has been going fairly well which is really encouraging. As this is the third ACL injury of his career, some fans have been a little concerned about how long he would actually be out for this time around.

Despite some suggestions he’d be left out, Kalajdzic is actually registered in Wolves’ Premier League squad. That said, it’s probably still going to be a few months until we see him back in first-team action.
