Jack Clarke and Sunderland stars react as Romaine Mundle sends message after Leeds United draw

Many Sunderland players have reacted to Romaine Mundle’s performance in the draw vs Leeds United.

The Black Cats managed to get themselves a solid point at the Stadium of Light against Leeds United following a calamity moment late on courtesy of Ilian Meslier.

Sunderland certainly deserved a point after they went head to head with Leeds United, and whilst it took a moment of fortune for the Black Cats to get level at the death, anything less than a point would have been disappointing in the circumstances.

There were many brilliant performances on the field, in particular from Sunderland full-back Dennis Cirkin, who looked to cause the Leeds United defence some serious issues on the offensive, whilst also putting in a notable defensive shift.

On the other hand, Dan Neil was yet again somewhat off the pace and it could be argued that Regis Le Bris made the wrong call to choose him over goalscorer Alan Browne.

One other performer was Romaine Mundle, who was called upon by his boss to find some consistency in his play, and whilst he was unable to notch a goal to help Sunderland along their way, he still made a difference on the wing for the Black Cats.

Sunderland winger Mundle has surprisingly managed to replicate the performances of the departed Jack Clarke, who joined Premier League outfit Ipswich Town this summer.

Whilst Clarke is no longer at the club, it is clear that he keeps an eye on the team and his former teammates as he responded to Mundle’s recent post on Instagram, where he wrote:
