Cleveland is expected to leave Nick Chubb on the Physically Unable to Perform List, which means he is ineligible to be active during the first four games of the season, per league

Nick Chubb could be returning to the field for the Browns soon

Chubb will return to practice on Wednesday after a year of rehabilitation.

Nick Chubb is about to step foot on a football field for the first time in over a year.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Monday that Chubb will take the practice field this Wednesday. Chubb stepping on the practice field marks the beginning of the 21-day window before he must be put on an active roster.

Chubb’s return to action is eminent, and it has been a long time coming. His last appearance on the field was when he was injured in Week 2 of last seaso

The year of rehabilitation between injury and his return to practice consisted of two surgeries he underwent to repair his meniscus, medial capsule, medial collateral ligament, and anterior cruciate ligament.

Many remember Chubbs’ injury he sustained in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers as a gruesome sight. His foot planted on the ground as he was being pushed forward, thus bending his knee in a direction that it was just not supposed to go in.

It could’ve been a career-killing hit on Chubb, but he took the time to turn it all around. All the proper steps needed to be taken for him to return to the field have been taken.

Chubb has also hung around the Browns facilities, taking meetings, staying close to players, and focusing on a return to the field.

The Browns running back was put on IR at the start of the 2024 season, and he’s missed the first four games of action.

There’s a chance Chubb won’t be on the field until mid-season, but Coach Stefanski knows that Chubb has been gnawing at the bits to get back out there and be of service to his team. The Browns head coach has seen the work put in this past off-season.

“I’ve seen him in this building very early in the morning. He has an attitude that he’s just punching the clock, trying to get ready whenever he is ready,” Stefanski said in a video call with the media on Monday.

It seems like the Browns are in the news for all the wrong reasons every week. This could mark a change of pace for them, both in the public’s image and in how they perform on Sundays.
