Nottingham Forest miss out on free agent target after Fabrizio Romano confirmation
Nottingham Forest has provided an update on a player that was of interest to Nuno Espirito Santo recently.
Nuno Espirito Santo welcomed ten players to the club in the summer transfer window, whether that be permanently of temporarily.
The likes of Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic and Ramon Sosa have already made big impacts this season, with a much more well-rounded squad at Nottingham Forest‘s disposal.
Jason Lee has already shared how impressed he is with Anderson since joining for a big fee from Newcastle United.
However, it appears as if Forest have missed out on a rumoured free agent target, as Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his X account.
Nottingham Forest miss out on free agent target
Nottingham Forest were interested in signing Oumar Solet as a free agent over the past couple of weeks (as per BBC).
The Frenchman operated at Red Bull Salzburg prior to becoming a free agent, which sparked the interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Nuno Espirito Santo already has Willy Boly, Milenkovic, Murillo and Morato at the heart of the defence so there wasn’t a desperate need to make a centre-back signing.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the defender has a new club.
Murillo latest at Nottingham Forest
With Nottingham Forest looking at a free-agent centre-back target, we’ve taken a look at Murillo‘s situation with plenty of clubs interested.
Real Madrid are taking a fancy to Murillo after his uptick in form over the past season at the City Ground.
It comes as no surprise as Ian Wright even said that the defender is his favourite Nottingham Forest player to watch.
With interest only set to increase in the Brazilian from here on in, it could be sensible for Forest to start identifying potential centre-back targets now Oumar Solet is out of the picture.
Nottingham Forest under-18s have kicked off their 2024/25 campaign in relatively convincing style with nine points from five games.
The Reds have an academy to be proud of with many players progressing through the academy to play Premier League football.
