Everton could soon be getting a new owner at the club after years of failed takeovers.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Dan Friedkin is “closing in” on a takeover of Everton FC, with the Premier League club struggling to find a buyer.

Not only the two parties are in discussion, but talks have been held at an advanced stage to strike a deal with the Toffees.

Farhad Moshiri owns 94% shares at Everton, and he is ready to sell all his shares.

Miami-based 777 Partners LLC previously made an attempt to buy the club, but the deal collapsed in the end.

Friedkin Group earlier this year walked away from the deal as they didn’t want to be involved in legal complications.

However, they have decided to make a U-turn, and talks are going smoothly with Moshiri over reaching an agreement.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds as John Textor is also keen to purchase all of Moshiri’s shares. The Crystal Palace owner has been very vocal about his desire to buy the Premier League club, and he has already outlined plans.

There is still a possibility that Textor could be in the race to buy the Toffees, as he is currently in the exclusivity period. He has until November 30 to reach an agreement with Moshiri.

The only problem is that Textor needs to sell his shares at Crystal Palace, and as of now, he hasn’t been able to do it.

Friedkin Group are one of the wealthiest businessmen in the world, and the USA Billionaires have experience managing a top football club.

They are also likely to pass the Director and Ownership tests easily, and they have previously shown commitments towards the development of the new stadium.

As it stands, the Friedkin Group are in the advanced stage to strike a deal, and while Textor is not out of the picture yet, he needs to sell his Crystal Palace shares quickly to have any chance of becoming the next Everton owner.

The Friedkin Group are reportedly closing in on a takeover of Everton.

Farhad Moshiri granted exclusivity to the American owners of AS Roma during the summer before discussions broke off just four weeks later.

It was understood that reservations over the club’s debts, including one held by former suitors 777 Partners, had been a factor in the Friedkins’ withdrawal.

In their absence, John Textor has actively pursued a deal to succeed Moshiri at Goodison Park despite needing to sell his shares in Crystal Palace first.

But Bloomberg claim that Dan Friedkin has now revived his previous interest in the Blues, which could bring the saga over the club’s future to an end.

The Texan billionaire is already a senior creditor with Everton, having satisfied their £158 million loan pertaining to the construction of Bramley-Moore Dock.
