‘This Is 40!’ Aaron Rodgers’ Message Going Viral

SEPT 21 THIS IS 40 Aaron Rodgers is back as an active member of the New York Jets. He’s helped his team win two straight games after a Thursday blowout over the Pats in which Rodgers threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns … and as he is dying to point out to his critics, he is doing this at the ripe old age of 40. And that’s why Rodgers celebrated the success on Instagram with a post, captioning it with the hashtag #ThisIs40.

That, of course, was also a Paul Rudd/Leslie Mann comedy film from 2018. but memes aside?

“It was a really special night,” Rodgers said, referencing the MetLife audience that supported him. “All those chants are really meaningful.”

SEPT 20 ANNOYING? If you are a fan of the New York Jets – especially today, following their Thursday night win over the Pats – there is nothing about Aaron Rodgers that you find to be “annoying.” But survey says … others see it differently. Who’s the most annoying player in the NFL? A pair of Chiefs make the list. That would be Patrick Mahomes (the audience has tired of his success?) and Travis Kelce (Swiftie Burnout?).

But in a recent fan survey by The Action Network, the big “winner” is Rodgers, the four-time MVP who some find to be “controversial,” but who right now, in New York, is anything but “annoying.” SEPT 20 WHY, ADAMS? Chances are, Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams’ Twitter post on Thursday night while his old buddy Aaron Rodgers was playing on national TV, leading the Jets to an easy win over the Patriots in innocuous. At the same, the six-time Pro Bowler Adams knows exactly what he’s doing. Cryptic. Cute. Whatever.

Aaron Rodgers 'excited' to help Packers rookie QB Jordan Love

Amid rumors that the 31-year-old Adams is unhappy with the Raiders, he shared on Instagram Story a picture of himself holding a helmet. He added a one-word caption: “Maybe.” “Maybe.” Maybe what? The timing of the post naturally caused some viewers to assume it’s Jets-related. … which means Adams knows exactly what he’s doing.

SEPT 18 AARON’S HEAD New York QB Aaron Rodgers is going to hate this. Rodgers is 40 years old. It’s no secret that at some point, retirement will be considered and will come. At the same time, Rodgers won’t be hurried by outsiders – and yet “outsiders” will continue to come as well. Enter Dan Graziano of ESPN, who thinks he’s got some sort of insight here.

“Rodgers could decide to retire after this season or could decide to come back and play in 2025,” Graziano said. “A lot of that decision could come down to how the rest of this season goes, and the same can be said about the future plan.” What ESPN just gave you, Jets fans, is “The Sound and the Fury.” Rodgers might retire. Or he might not. Depending. Really? No kidding, Sherlock. SEPT 14 POST-NY MOVE As has been rumored, the 49ers on Saturday officially are placing All-Pro RB Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve due to his calf tightness and Achilles tendinitis.

Aaron Rodgers will make his return to the field as Jets take on 49ers

This was a Jets-related subject of controversy as it seemed the Niners were not being forthcoming about the injury severity. McCaffrey now will miss the next four games – and maybe more – as the team assesses whether he can return in mid-October. The Niners did record the win over the Jets without their star as they move to Week 2 against the Vikings. SEPT 14 NO PUNISHMENT The San Francisco 49ers didn’t have All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey available for their Week 1 win over the Jets as he was ruled out due to a calf/Achilles injury.
