New Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams Attacked by Fans for Disrespect of Opposing QB
The Chicago Bears and their new quarterback Caleb Williams are 1-1 through week two of the 2024 season after suffering a loss to the Houston Texans and their new star QB, C.J. Stroud.
Stroud was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and Williams was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Williams has struggled through the first two games as a rookie being thrown directly into the fire with one of the league’s worst offensive lines, but he still managed to give his team a chance to beat Stroud and the Texans after mounting a massive comeback win in week one.
Some fans think Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams showed a lack of respect for C.J. Stroud after the game
Stroud and the Texans are 2-0 after a 19-13 win over the Bears. Following the win, Stroud and Williams met at midfield.
Stroud, who is coming off of one of the best rookie seasons a quarterback has had in NFL history, attempted to give Williams advice as Williams tries to find his footing in the NFL. Stroud and Williams are both 22-year-old up-and-coming NFL stars, but Stroud has a valuable rookie year of experience along with a playoff win under his belt.
Stroud has already had high praise for Williams in an article from Pro Football Talk, saying he was really talented to the media ahead of their week two matchup.
“He’s definitely a playmaker, somebody who can expend plays and make all the cool throws, a tough player, takes hits,” Stroud said. “And [he’s] really just really talented, so I definitely do think that he has great things coming in his career and I definitely do think he’ll get his rhythm going.”
Many fans praised Stroud for his leadership qualities when he attempted to give Williams advice. Some fans attacked Williams for what they thought was a lack of respect while other fans don’t blame Williams for being short with Stroud after his first NFL loss.
