Titans Rule Out Key Defender Ahead Of Sunday’s Game with two weeks set to be ruled. According to Medical team

The Tennessee Titans are about to kick off their 2024 regular season on the road against the Caleb Williams-led Chicago Bears.

Brian Callahan is set to start his NFL head coaching career, but he will be without one of his top defenders.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, veteran safety Jamal Adams will miss the game with a hip injury.

The All-Pro defender was one of several veteran acquisitions the Titans made this offseason.

They traded for and signed Super Bowl champion cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

On offense, they brought in veteran wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, along with Pro Bowl running back Tony Pollard.

This team is entering the post-Mike Vrabel era with a completely new identity.

Not having Adams against a talented Bears offense that includes Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen, 1,000-yard receiver D.J. Moore and first-round pick Rome Odunze could be key.

Both the Titans and the Bears are looking to surprise people this season.

They are lying in the weeds at the moment, with other teams in their divisions and conferences getting more talk in terms of playoff contention.

This Week 1 matchup will be a great test for both to see where they are in their growth from a season ago.

If the Titans can find a way to go on the road and pull off a big win without Adams, it could provide some momentum moving forward.

The Titans open the season on Sunday against the Bears in Chicago.

The Tennessee Titans first-year defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson has some familiarity with the Chicago Bears organization.

Wilson was a scout for the Bears from 2008-2011 and overlapped with current Bears defensive coordinator Eric Washington and cornerbacks coach/passing game coordinator Jon Hoke during that time.

What’s unknown right now is what exactly Wilson brings as a defensive coordinator for the Titans. He’s worked with defensive backs since being with the Rams in 2015. That remained the same with the Jets from 2017-2020 and he added the title of passing game coordinator in his final two seasons in New York.
