Sean Dyche shares whether Armando Broja and Orel Mangala will be fit for Everton vs Aston Villa
Everton have endured quite the injury crisis already this season, despite being just three Premier League games in.
And, it has clearly already affected them.
Ten goals conceded across three games marks a horrific first few games, and now a trip to Aston Villa awaits. Things are not getting any simpler
However, things might ease should they get a few of their stars back to action.
Sean Dyche provides Everton injury update
Speaking at his press conference earlier today, an injury update was top of the reporters’ agenda, just after John Textor’s Everton takeover comments were combed through.
And whilst he would confirm that Seamus Coleman was ‘tough-and-go’, ruling out Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson, the new signings posed an intriguing prospect.
Armando Broja and Orel Mangala both joined on deadline day, but neither have really been pictured in and around the club due to various reasons.
Sean Dyche has since revealed: ‘Armando [Broja] is going to be a bit of time. I think everyone’s aware of that situation. He’s got an injury and that’s going to be a bit of time.
‘Orel [Mangala]. Well, obviously we know from his time at Forest. We know he can deal with the Premier League, we know he’s an international footballer. He’s just spent his first bit of time because he literally signed and went away. That’s one of them things.
‘But he’s come in today, bright and breezy, he wants to be a part of the group and we’ll assess it as we go on.’
Should Orel Mangala start for Everton if fit?
With Broja completely ruled out, likely until mid-October, Mangala instead poses a very serious threat for a starting position.
After all, he has more than enough Premier League experience to fit Dyche’s criteria to be a starter, having shone at international level as well.
