Nottingham Forest 'owe MILLIONS to players and agents' fresh report claims

Fee, bonuses, agent pay published on Nottingham Forest transfer as club makes controversial move

The Portuguese giants have recently moved on David Carmo to Nottingham Forest, who later loaned him on to Olympiacos, who had him for the second half of last season too.

Porto have now revealed on the new platform that the initial fee they received from Nottingham Forest was €11m with potentially €4m worth of bonuses involved too.

In the section for the fee they paid to intermediaries, the club mentioned that they paid about half a million for that and an extra fee was also paid to intermediaries from Pro One.

While the move is one aimed at accountability, and will certainly please fans, Swedish club Hammarby, who had sold Deniz Gul to Porto this summer, aren’t too happy.

Club CEO Richard von Yxkull has told Expressen that they were not informed about this move from Porto after originally agreeing the fee would be undisclosed. There’s even the chance they could now take legal action.

“Porto has not spoken to us about this. We need to take a closer look at this. I have to talk to our lawyers about that, but it is confidential. So I don’t know how Porto has actually reasoned.”

The matter, it is mentioned, could also be a breach of contract from the Portuguese club, who could find themselves in trouble for the move which was proposed by new president André Villas-Boas.

How the situation unfolds will be very intriguing to see, considering how revealing some of the financial details are.

Nottingham Forest conceded 67 goals in the Premier League last season, the fifth-highest number conceded in the division. Whilst this is one fewer goal than they conceded in the 2022/23 campaign (68), it is still one of the worst defensive records in the league.

This Forest side have made 28 signings in the past two seasons, making it difficult to establish a starting back four (back five including the goalkeeper), which in turn has seen the Tricky Trees struggle defensively over the past few years.

Forest’s number one goalkeeper, Matz Sels, made 16 appearances for the club after signing in January last season, keeping one clean sheet, and conceding 27 goals in 1,440 minutes played.

It’s safe to say he’s not quite as good as this famed stopper on Trentside…

How much Forest signed Brice Samba for

Fan favourite Brice Samba joined Forest back in 2019, signed from SM Caen for €2.10m (£1.7m). Samba had only made 49 appearances for the French side, conceding 66 goals and keeping 15 clean sheets, making a name for himself and earning his move to English shores.
