It is always nice to see one great young quarterback hype another quarterback who could be on the same track.

That is exactly what Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud did to Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb William

As the two are set to face off against each other this week, Stroud spoke glowingly about Williams in front of the Houston media.

“Definitely a playmaker. Somebody who can extend plays and make all the cool throws. A tough player. Just really talented,” Stroud said of Williams.

Stroud knows all about finding success as a rookie seeing as he set many NFL and Texans franchise records en route to guiding Houston to an AFC South title last season in his first NFL season.

Of course, Caleb Williams didn’t exactly get off to the most promising start to his career last Sunday.

He went 14 of 29 passing for just 93 yards.

Chicago was able to outlast the Tennessee Titans 24-17 thanks to the play of the Chicago special teams and defense.

The Bears blocked a punt that went for a touchdown and intercepted Titans quarterback Will Levis twice.

This week, Chicago isn’t exactly going up against Will Levis.

They will be facing off against an elite quarterback in Stroud, who picked up right where he left off last season by beating the Indianapolis Colts on the road in a Week One shootout 29-27.

Williams is going to have to be more prolific but must continue to not turn the ball over if the Bears want to have a prayer at pulling off the upset
