Everton hijack Leicester City move for Yusuf Yazici as transfer speculation emerges with agreement reached

Bryan King has backed Everton to complete the free signing of Yusuf Yazici.

The ex-Toffees scout believes any new owners should have the final say on what players are signed.

It comes after Jeunes Footeux reported (7 September) that the Toffees are looking to hijack Leicester City’s move for Yazici, who is a free agent after leaving Lille.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – feels that the 27-year-old would be a positive addition for whoever ended up signing him.

“This could be a useful addition, especially if he is a free transfer,” King said.

“It isn’t going to break any financial fair play rules. At the moment, there seems to be a lot of decisions being made but no real concrete action. That worries me a little bit.

“Everton can’t do anything until a new manager or new owner comes in. However, that profile of player, that quality of player will be useful for whoever he ends up playing with in the Premier League.”

There is a lot of uncertainty at Goodison Park at the moment.

That makes transfer decisions incredibly difficult. Should Textor complete a takeover of Everton, he might decide to bring in a brand-new manager.

And that manager might feel as though Yazici is not the player he wants.

Therefore, until the takeover saga is resolved, Everton might struggle to make any transfer decisions.

In other Everton news, takeover progress has been mooted behind the scenes after a recent club-record deal was agreed.

Everton will be looking to to bounce back against Aston Villa after heavy losses to Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, and a shocking 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth at Goodison Park. – but the job could be a lot tougher than they’d hoped due to a raft of injury concerns.

Villa’s squad has been boosted by the addition of Amadou Onana from Toffees , he has already netted twice in his first two appearances for the club.

Last season, Everton suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat to Villa in the same fixture, but they did manage a 2-1 victory at the same venue in the League Cup. Manager Sean Dyche is desperate for a performance more reminiscent of the latter than the former.

However, Dyche has a new fitness concern to deal with. Club captain Seamus Coleman was forced to withdraw while playing for the Republic of Ireland against England over the weekend, making him a significant doubt for the upcoming match, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Coleman sat out his country’s subsequent game against Greece and has returned to Everton for treatment. The extent of his injury is yet to be disclosed, with Dyche expected to provide an update at his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Fans are eagerly awaiting updates on the fitness levels of Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson.

Before the international break, Dyche was hesitant about the possibility of either player participating in any behind-closed-doors matches to improve their fitness. Branthwaite, who was on Manchester United’s radar throughout the summer transfer window, has been a significant absence in the early stages of the season.
