West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell surgery claim shared after injury concluded with two others added during break

West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell risks missing 12 weeks in a worst-case scenario given his hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar

The injury expert claims that it’s difficult to gauge the situation as Julen Lopetegui has stated that it was a setback suffered in training and has not offered a return date.

The scans will give a clearer indicator as to how serious it is, but as things stand, all possibilities are on the cards.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:

“It is difficult to tell how bad it is because we haven’t had any update on the injury.

“It’s hard to tell from just the description alone as it’s a hamstring injury during warm-up.

The English left-back is 34 and his fitness issues are making it even harder for him to be a regular for the Hammers.

Last season, Cresswell made just 11 Premier League appearances and may not be at the club in 12 months’ time.

His contract runs out at the end of the season and thus far, Julen Lopetegui will not have seen much to justify a new deal for him.

In other West Ham news, the club are on the verge of signing a new free agent and ExWHUEmployee has issued a transfer update.

West Ham could now sign two free agents in the same week as stunning new claim emerges

Julen Lopetegui strengthened his West Ham squad beyond all recognition in the summer, and he has taken us to a new level entirely now in my opinion.

The West Ham head coach enjoyed a magnificent summer transfer window, with nine exceptional new players arriving at the London Stadium.

Lopetegui now has a lot of work to do during the two-week international break, and it will be crucial for him to find a way of getting all of his new signings to gel together.

I have no doubts that everything will come good over the next few months, once the players settle into Lopetegui’s system and get used to one another’s playing styles.

We have players at the club who are genuinely capable of pushing for a top six finish in my eyes.

However, the Hammers chief clearly still thinks his squad in general needs to be improved…

Despite leaving himself short defensively after the summer transfer window closed, the Spaniard seems intent on making up for that.
