Sean Dyche demands Newcastle man joins Everton after late request in Anthony Gordon transfer

Everton should return for the perfect Sean Dyche replacement who they’ve already tried to sign

Everton are enduring a horror start to the new season, having lost their opening three Premier League games in emphatic fashion.

Shipping ten goals across this period and throwing in one almighty late collapse too has only intensified frustrations surrounding Goodison Park, with this fanbase an emotional one at the best of times.

But, their anger is more than justified, and unsurprisingly it is Sean Dyche where the blame is falling.

He has worked wonders thus far across his tenure with the Toffees, but an uninspiring brand of football is seldom received well if the results do not come alongside it.

So, given their form has deserted them, pressure on Dyche’s Everton job is intensifying.

Already a few names have been lined up should the Everton board seek to act on this managerial uncertainty, but the reality of the situation is that they are unlikely to make any big changes unless they absolutely have to.

And, it’s worth mentioning that they started last season in exactly the same way, having gained just one point from their first five Premier League games. Yet, Dyche remained.

Then, delving even further into the season, and a 13-match winless run which spanned from December into April had many once again calling for his head, but he steadied the ship despite two points deductions and steered them well clear of the drop.

The 53-year-old deserves huge praise for this feat, and so he has plenty of credit in the bank.

That’s without even outlining the uncertain ownership situation, and whether anyone at the top of the club would even have jurisdiction to fire a manager with Farhad Moshiri having gone awol.

Dyche’s future might be under scrutiny, with even David Moyes linked with an Everton return, but the chances of his exit are slim.

Were they to make a change though, there is one outstanding candidate that the Toffees could return for, having tried to pry him from his club back in 2023.

Carlos Corberan would be a perfect fit for Everton

If they are to hire a new manager, this fanbase will want some kind of ambition to go alongside it.

Therefore, the appointment must be someone younger, boasting fresh ideas, and with a high ceiling that could drag the team along with him.

There are therefore few better options than Carlos Corberan, who continues to work wonders at West Bromwich Albion on a limited budget.

Having turned the Baggies from a relegation-threatened into true play-off challengers, his style of play is adaptable and really interesting.

Altering their pressing plan dependent on the opponent, the Spaniard, a disciple of Leeds United legend Marcelo Bielsa, always looks to force them into specific zones where they can then reclaim possession.

Relying on an aggressive and high-energy midfield, already the foundation is in place for this system, especially when they are to drop into more of a solid low-block.
