£55m Tottenham player is in talks to leave but Daniel Levy not accepting bid

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be one of the quietest clubs in the Premier League on transfer deadline day.

Spurs have done a lot of their business already.

They have signed Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Yang Min-hyuk, while the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Japhet Tanganga, Oliver Skipp and Emerson Royal among others have all moved on.

Most of Tottenham’s transfer activity is done, but there are still a couple of players who could leave the club on deadline day.

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on one of them.

The Argentine joined Tottenham in 2019, initially on loan that was made permanent in the following year in a total deal worth up to £55 million (Guardian).

The midfielder, on his day, is a joy to watch, but for one reason or another, he just hasn’t been able to deliver consistent performances at Tottenham.

Many people expected Lo Celso to be sold in 2023 after his loan spells at Villarreal. Ange Postecoglou kept hold of him then, but he is likely to leave before Friday night’s transfer deadline.

Real Betis are really keen to sign Lo Celso and have been in talks to get him.

But, Romano has revealed that Betis’ current proposal to sign Lo Celso is not being accepted by Daniel Levy at Tottenham. There’s no agreement so far.

The journalist tweeted: “Real Betis are still in talks for Gio Lo Celso, negotiations are taking place. But, Tottenham are not accepting the current conditions of the deal.”
