Wolves are in for a busy few weeks – and today, the club have rejected a transfer proposal for a player who’s expected to depart Molineux.

Three players have left the club so far this summer. Max Kilman was the first to go, joining West Ham United for £40 million. Then Pedro Neto signed for Chelsea, with Hugo Bueno moving to Feyenoord on loan just days later.

More players are expected to leave in the coming days and weeks.

Goncalo Guedes went on the trip to Miami, but he is still someone who could leave.

Daniel Podence is also likely to go, with reports suggesting that an agreement is in place for him to join Olympiacos permanently.

Fabio Silva is another player who is set to depart – and he is now the subject of a failed bid.

It has been reported this morning by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano that Wolves have now rejected a proposal from Genoa for Fabio Silva.

The Italian club had reportedly made a loan bid for the player, with a buy option attached. There was no word on how much that buy option was worth, though.

It cannot have been too high though, because Romano has reported this morning that the proposal has been turned down for the £80,000-a-week striker.

He said on X: “Wolves have rejected Genoa loan plus option to buy clause for Fábio Silva.

“Wolves prefer to consider other proposals for the Portuguese striker.”

It remains to be seen if Genoa will return with a fresh proposal. But Wolves can afford to play the waiting game with Silva.

Interest in the player seems to be relatively high despite his struggles – Valencia, Las Palmas and Wolfsburg have all been linked.

So Genoa have failed with their first proposal for Silva, and we shall see if they come in with an improved offer.

The youngster will surely go in this window. Sadly, the transfer just has not worked out.

Silva was always up against it at Wolves. He came in for a huge £35 million fee, despite having hardly played for FC Porto’s first-team. He himself admitted earlier this summer that he never particularly even wanted to move in the first place.

He was thrown in at the deep end in his first season after Raul Jimenez fractured his skull, and Silva’s lack of experience was clear. At times, he looked like a fish out of water in the Premier League.

He could never get any kind of momentum going at the club, and he just hasn’t really shown enough to warrant being given any more chances.

He has said that it’s ‘no secret’ that he wants to leave the club and his wish will surely be granted, despite the rejection of Genoa’s first bid.
