Young Bear Leaves Practice Again With Injury Right After Recent Absence

The Chicago Bears are dealing with another injury along the offensive line.

The Chicago Bears are ready for the 2024 season after they made a flurry of moves to improve the roster this offseason.

The Bears are in a loaded division that saw the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions make the playoffs. If they want to make that jump and get into the dance, they need to have their guys stay healthy but one key starter isn’t off to a good start in camp.

Bears News: Darnell Wright, Andrew Billings, and Terell Smith Left Wednesday’s Practice
Per Adam Hoge of CHGO Bears, Darnell Wright, Andrew Billings, and Terell Smith all got hurt in Wednesday’s practice and had to leave.

This isn’t great news surrounding Wright. He returned to the practice field on Tuesday after he missed the previous three with an undisclosed injury. The 22-year-old was seen stepping away during the team’s first 11-on-11 period and was replaced by Larry Borom.

One thing that makes this a cause for concern is that Nicholas Moreano said Wright, “looked like he was in pain for the last two snaps.”

Although the exact injury hasn’t been revealed, it makes you think that he may not been healed from the one that kept him out earlier in camp.

This injury also affects Caleb Williams’ preseason plans. Matt Eberflus made it known that the health of the offensive line will determine the quarterback’s playing time.

With Wright most likely missing Saturday’s practice against the Buffalo Bills, the plan for Williams may be up in the air.

Getting the offensive line healthy will be a key element for the success of the Bears and the former USC standout.

Luckily for them, the live bullets don’t start until Sept. 8 at home versus the Tennessee Titans.
