Tottenham transfers: Levy sets mindblowing Cristian Romero valuation despite centre-back's Real Madrid revelation

Tottenham could soon launch bids for two ‘world class’ players who Ange Postecoglou is big admirers of.

Tottenham Hotspur are now less than two weeks from the season opener away to Leicester City and they are going into it without a fit striker.

Ange Postecoglou now has his men back at Hotspur Way following the conclusion of their pre-season tour of Asia.

On the pitch, Tottenham have been impressive over their pre-season friendlies with only their last game against Bayern Munich seeing them fall short.

However, in the transfer market, there has been a lot left to be desired by Johan Lange with Spurs only bringing in one new recruit for the 2024/25 season.

Two further additions have been signed in Timo Werner and Yang Min-hyeok but Spurs fans may not consider them new signings for this season.

But it seems as if Tottenham are now plotting moves for two forwards that could really improve their front line.

Tottenham plotting two bids for Premier League forwards
Spurs came into the summer without any pressing requirements to improve their starting backline with a big emphasis on signing forwards.

So far, this has not been executed with Tottenham having only retained Werner in the market this summer.

Postecoglou has made a demand in a recent recruitment meeting of adding a striker with Premier League experience at Tottenham.

And it seems as if the Spurs board have listened to their Australian manager as they now look set to do exaxtly that.

According to Rudy Galetti, Spurs are plotting bids for both Dominic Solanke and for Ivan Toney over the coming weeks.

This would suggest neither striker is likely to be in through the doors ahead of that season opener away to the Foxes.

Bournemouth are not expected to be keen on potentially losing their star man so late on in the window.

But Spurs could look to test both Brentford and Bournemouth’s resolve over the coming weeks before the deadline at the end of the month.

Ivan Toney and Dominic Solanke would be raring to go at Tottenham
Even if a move before the season opener is unlikely, Spurs would be bringing in a striker from either of these two who is more than familiar with the English top flight.

Both Toney and Solanke have been hailed as ‘world class‘ and, in theory, should not take any considerable time in settling in to their new clubs.

There is some logic in potentially waiting for a player like Toney who has just one-year remaining on his current deal with Brentford.

Spurs could be looking to see how Toney’s price could be affected as the days roll by with Brentford risking losing out on a big chunk of money by keeping Toney this season.
