SGA Comments on Possibly Facing Team USA At Olympics.

he Oklahoma City Thunder are profiling to be a legitimate contender during the 2024-25 NBA season as the roster is stacked with young, two-way talent and complementary role players.

With Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams, the Thunder have two cornerstone pieces to build their roster around.

However, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the person who makes the team go as their top player and one of the best overall in the league.

Gilgeous-Alexander was an NBA MVP candidate last season because of his ability to score from everywhere on the floor at an efficient clip.

Now, Gilgeous-Alexander has the responsibility of leading Team Canada during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

They are widely considered the biggest threat to Team USA with a fair share of NBA talent on its roster.

With the two countries seemingly on a collision course at the Olympics, Gilgeous-Alexander discussed what it would mean to play Team USA.

“We come here to play against the best talent and best team in the world, and they’re at the top of it, so of course it’d be fun,” Gilgeous-Alexander said, via Clemente Almanza of OKC Thunder Wire.

It sounds like Gilgeous-Alexander and the rest of the Canada roster aren’t afraid of Team USA, and for good reason, as they stack up well on paper.

Both squads won their respective groups by going undefeated during pool play and likely would face each other in the elimination rounds at some point.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Canada would be considered the underdogs in that matchup, but it would be exciting nonetheless.
