Mikey Moore set for first-XI move with Tottenham announcement days away – sources

Tottenham are planning to move winger sensation Mikey Moore into the first-team for the 2024-25 campaign, sources have told Football Insider.

Moore is set to turn professional at Spurs when he turns 17 on 11 August, and the club are expected to announce he has signed a long-term contract at the club.

The teenage sensation has starred in pre-season and scored the winner in a 3-2 friendly win over Vissel Kobe on Saturday (27 July).

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is now set to hand him a role in the first-team this term after introducing him in the 2023-24 campaign.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (30 July) that Spurs have no plans to send the wonderkid on a development loan this season.

He has already made two senior Tottenham appearances totalling three minutes of action – with both outings coming in the Premier League.

Moore has starred at Under-18 level, notching 19 goals and 13 assists in 24 club appearances.

He has also hit 10 goals in 12 caps for England’s Under-17 side.

The winger’s displays have attracted attention, with Football Insider revealing earlier this month (23 July) that Man City and Man United have offered him a contract amid huge interest from elite clubs.

Fabrizio Romano confirms exciting Tottenham transfer news
Spurs are ready to bring in two additional players

With the transfer window closing in, Tottenham Hotspur is gearing up to make some key signings. Fabrizio Romano reports that the club is aiming to bring in both a central midfielder and an attacking player to boost their squad.

Tottenham has been active in the transfer market this summer, notably offloading several players deemed surplus to requirements. However, despite these departures, the club’s signings so far have left many fans feeling underwhelmed, with few high-profile arrivals. The expectation among supporters is that the club will make significant moves before the window shuts.

Romano’s latest update sheds light on Tottenham’s strategic plans. He reveals that Spurs are keen on signing a new central midfielder to replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who was recently sold to Olympique de Marseille.

In addition to a midfielder, Tottenham is also expected to add at least one more attacking player to their roster. Romano emphasizes that Spurs are not just looking for any attacker but are aiming to bring in a talented player who can make a notable impact. “I think they will do something in the offensive positions,” Romano told GiveMeSport. “This is the idea, one more offensive player, one more talented player.”

Fabrizio Romano confirms exciting Tottenham transfer news
The pursuit of new signings aligns with a report from The Mirror, which suggests that Tottenham is considering moves for Conor Gallagher and Ivan Toney. Gallagher, known for his dynamic midfield play, could fill the void left by Hojbjerg, while Toney’s goal-scoring prowess would add depth to Tottenham’s attack.

Beyond the central midfielder and attacker, there is also a strong desire among Tottenham supporters for the arrival of a high-profile winger. Names like Pedro Neto have been mentioned as potential targets, reflecting the fans’ hope for a game-changing addition to the team’s wing positions.

With the deadline looming, Tottenham Hotspur’s decision-makers are feeling the pressure to finalize their signings. The next few days will be critical in shaping the team’s prospects for the season ahead, with a focus on bringing in impactful players to boost performance and meet the high expectations of their fans.
