Leicester City in advanced talks with former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper

Leicester closer to special transfer as West Ham are out and the Arsenal camp believe a move is the best option

Leicester looks for new signings and the most special move we would like to see happening is the one of Reiss Nelson. Reports suggests that Leicester at this point are the front runners, but there is one hurdle. Arsenal are looking for a full transfer, rather than a loan. Leicester would prefer a loan with an option to buy as a potential relegation would stop them from making the move permanent.

West Ham are according to this well informed scource, no longer part of the play, as they cannot afford to sign Reiss Nelson at this point.

Arsenal transfers: West Ham rattled, with Leicester confident of hijacking Gunners star deal

There is yet to be seen a formal bid for the player and that might be the situation if Arsenal is eager to sell rather than having the player send out on loan. They cannot guarantee Reiss Nelson regular first team football and the player is in need of more minutes week in and week out to progress in his game.

We certainly do not see Leicester bringing in Jordan Ayew and Reo Hatate, as both players will not bolster the area they are supposed to fill and are not better alternatives than what the club has to their disposal. Bouba Soumare played for Sevilla in La Liga last season, despite having a group of fans wanting him out, he is a much better player than Reo Hatate ever will be. Kasey McAteer and Patson Daka who would be contenders to Jordan Ayew, as well as Bobby De Cordova-Reid, are all three much better players, they are younger and they should not be down the pecking order behind Ayew.

West Ham have early discussions with Arsenal regarding Reiss Nelson

OH Leuven midfielder Mandela Keita is seen today as another alternative recruit. Leicester could of course bring in him on loan from their sister club as the Belgian international has impressed on loan at Royal Antwerpen. This does not make sence either with him and Reo Hatate, filling gaps in the pecking order behind players allready at the club.

Leicester do need a new offensive midfielder and one more flank alternative, nothing else, nothing more, so Reiss Nelson would be the perfect additon, with possibly Columbia international Ramon Rosa, free agent Brahima Diarra or Matt O’Reilly being the type of players that could bring the creativity needed to get this ship forward.
