Guardians Insider Reveals Immediate Plans For Travis Bazzana

The Cleveland Guardians want to be very careful with their No. 1 draft pick Travis Bazzana.
With their minor league assignment to High-A Lake County, they want to make sure he walks before he runs.
They have announced a special plan for the weekend for their prized second baseman, outlined here by Guardians insider Zack Meisel.
“Travis Bazzana will lead off for Lake County in his pro debut tonight (at Great Lakes). He’ll play seven innings at second base, and play seven more innings on Sunday. He’s expected to make his home debut in Eastlake on Tuesday,” he tweeted.
Bazzana oozes talent, and he has given a major boost to Cleveland’s already strong farm system.
He had a fantastic season at Oregon State, hitting .407 with 28 home runs and 16 stolen bases in 60 games.
His OPS was an incredible 1.479, and he has shown elite upside at the plate.
Cleveland wants him to get his feet wet in professional ball this weekend, playing seven innings at his position, second base, before taking the field again on Sunday.
He will be playing on the road this weekend but will make his much-awaited home debut in Lake County on Tuesday.
He is a special prospect and has shown elite intangibles in addition to some impressive tools on the field.
The Guardians hope he can be their second baseman of the future, taking over for Andres Gimenez and sending him to shortstop.
The idea of having an infield with Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, Gimenez, and Bazzana has to be incredibly exciting not only for the front office, coaches, and ownership, but for fans as a whole.
