Milwaukee Brewers: Jackson Chourio Looked Like A Star During A 2 Game Sweep Of The Minnesota Twins.
The Milwaukee Brewers shocked the baseball world last winter when they signed Jackson Chourio to an eight year contract extension with $82 million guaranteed. At the time of the deal Chourio had not yet seen a pitch in the big leagues. His team is now 99 games into the regular season and during a two game series against the Minnesota Twins he looked like a star.
Jackson Chourio had been heating up leading up to the Minnesota Twins series.

On June 1 he had a .207/.251/.323 slash line with five HR, 16 RBI, 48 K, and 10 BB. In early June his bat got going and since he has posted a .314/.368/.512 slash line with five HR, 24 RBI, 23 K and 11 BB.
Against the Minnesota Twins Jackson Chourio looked like a star and led the Milwaukee Brewers to a sweep.

Following the All-Star break a pair of playoff teams in Milwaukee and Minnesota met for a two game series. During the first game, a 12 inning affair, Jackson Chourio went 3-5 that included a two RBI base knock in extra innings and a game ending diving catch.
One day later Chourio went 2-4, hit a game tying 2 RBI double in the fifth, tied the game again in the seventh inning with a 443 foot home run, and also made another slick defense play in the outfield. All together he had five RBI against the Twins.

Once the series was complete Manager Pat Murphy was asked about how Jackson Chourio performed over the weekend. Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the following quote, “These two games, you’d walk away saying, ‘Wow, that kid deserves $150 million.’ Like, we got him cheap if you watched these two games.”
The Brewers sweep of the Twins puts them back at 15 games over .500 with a 57-42 record. Up next they play the Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins, and then the Atlanta Braves to round out the month of July.
