The 26-year-old forward had been given extra time off after competing in the Copa America for the USA national team, albeit crashing out in the group stages along with fellow Sky Blues Kasey Palmer and Joel Latibeaudiere, who also failed to make the knock-out stages with Jamaica.

City flew out to Valencia for their week-long training camp on Sunday, having blown away the cobwebs with a 3-0 behind-closed-doors friendly win over League Two Port Vale at Loughborough University on Saturday. Wright made his own way to Spain, hooking up with the rest of his team-mates today (Monday).

Wright could feature for the first time on Friday when City take on La Liga side Getafe CF in another behind-closed-door game, which is due to be streamed live. The match is scheduled to be played at the Oliva Nova Sport Center in Valencia, and Getafe say it will be streamed on YouTube here.
