Suns officially announce 2-way signing of undrafted rookie.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns officially announced the signing of undrafted Baylor wing Jalen Bridges to a two-way contract today.

It was reported immediately after the draft that Bridges would be signing with the Suns. A video showed his announcement that he would be signing.

The 6-foot-7 Bridges, who has a 6-foot-10 wingspan, was a four-year college player, playing two seasons at West Virginia from 2020-22 before transferring to Baylor for his last two years. He started all but nine of his 130 career collegiate games and was named to the All-Big 12 Third Team this past season after averaging 12.2 points on 46.6%/41.2%/82.3% shooting splits, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals with the Bears.

Teams are allowed to add three players on two-way contracts in addition to the 15 roster spots they have available. Two-way players can only be active for 50 NBA games per season and cannot appear in playoff games.

With this two-way deal, Bridges now gets the chance to suit up for the Suns’ new G League team, the Valley Suns, who will play their inaugural season this fall at Arizona State’s Mullett Arena.

The Suns also are reportedly signing former Nuggets guard Collin Gillespie to a two-way contract and have filled 14 of their 15 standard contract spots.
