MLB home run props for Fri. 7/5: Cal’s your pal.
Thanks to Manny Machado on Wednesday, we’ve now cashed three home run props in our last six picks. There’s a ton of friendly weather and helping wind on Friday’s MLB slate, so let’s finish the week off strong with three more HR bets.
Ian Happ (+370 FanDuel)
Angels at Cubs, 2:20 p.m. ET
The most hitter-friendly setup on Friday’s slate looks to be in Chicago, as the wind is projected to blow strongly out to center at Wrigley Field. Los Angeles Angels starter Griffin Canning has surrendered the sixth-most home runs (16) this season, and he’s giving up a career-high 31.4 percent fly-ball rate. Ian Happ is absolutely on fire against right-handed pitching, as he’s batting .333 and slugging .933 with two homers against righties over the last week.
Jarred Kelenic (+500 DraftKings)
Phillies at Braves, 7:20 p.m. ET
Another great weather matchup is going down between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves. It’s going to feel like 95 degrees in Hotlanta, and the wind is projected to blow strongly out to left-center field at Truist Park. Kelenic is batting .320 and slugging .600 against right-handed pitching over the last 10 days, and he’s 2-4 against Aaron Nola in his career.
Cal Raleigh (+340 FD)
Blue Jays at Mariners, 9:40 p.m. ET
There isn’t much Raleigh loves more than facing Kevin Gausman. In 10 career plate appearances against the Toronto Blue Jays righty, Raleigh is batting .444 and slugging a whopping 1.444 with three home runs. Gausman is giving up the seventh-highest barrel rate (11.3 percent) among qualified pitchers, and Raleigh has the 14th-highest barrel rate (14.3) among qualified hitters. This is a match made in heaven for the Seattle Mariners slugger.
