Gillingham’s League 2 home game against Chesterfield on Saturday, August 31 moved to 12.30pm for Sky Sports+ coverage.

Gillingham’s home game against Chesterfield has been moved for TV coverage.

The League 2 clash at Priestfield, on Saturday, August 31, will now kick off at 12.30pm rather than 3pm.

It will be shown live on the new Sky Sports+ channel which is replacing the iFollow service.

Gillingham and Chesterfield are among the favourites for promotion.

Defender Zech Medley, who played for Gillingham on loan from Arsenal joins League 2 rivals Fleetwood Town.

Former Gillingham loanee Zech Medley has a new club in League 2.

He’s signed a two-year deal with Fleetwood Town, who are rebuilding following their relegation from League 1 last season.

They host the Gills in the early weeks of the campaign, with Mark Bonner’s side heading to Highbury on August 24.

Centre-back Medley spent the first half of the 2020-21 season at Priestfield on loan from Arsenal.

After spending the early part of the off-season strengthening the squad with key signings, Gillingham and Mark Bonner are now ready to get the players onto the training pitch as they get set to start their pre-season schedule.

It’s also a crucial time of the summer for the club in other aspects, too, with a number of other issues still to be addressed that, once settled, should stand Bonner’s Gillingham in good stead ahead of the coming campaign.
