Leicester City: Kasey McAteer says busy festive schedule a 'massive opportunity' for Foxes - BBC Sport

Brighton agree record deal to sign Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer  to boost the attacking role within the club

Brighton and Leicester City have agreed a £30million fee for starlet Kasey McAteer, talkSPORT understands.

Leicester City have been keen to sell McAteer to Brighton, who spent last season on loan at Dortmund, to meet strict Profit and Sustainability rule regulations.

The Magpies have given permission to the Gambia international to speak to Brighton, who will now fly in to speak to the south coast club.

And they have negotiated a fee to see Brighton break their club-record transfer, set last year by Joao Pedro who joined from Watford for just under £30m.

Minteh, who has never played a game for the Magpies, looks set to join the Seagulls for a fee just north of that.

Newcastle have looked to offload the 19-year-old before June 30, which marks the end of the financial year in the Premier League and has had clubs rushing to meet the PSR deadlines.

But Minteh was only interested in staying in the Premier League and the deal suits all parties.

The Gambia international only signed last summer at Newcastle from Danish club Odense Boldklub.

However, he was loaned out immediately to Feyenoord where he became a key player.

Brighton are keen to bring in reinforcements and back their new manager Fabian Hurzeler, who has replaced Roberto De Zerbi.

The 31-year-old is also desperate to keep two key players, who have been linked with moves to Germany.
