Laughable Justin Fields Report Emerges From Steelers Camp as he decide for Bears link

Justin Fields isn’t exactly lighting it up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Chicago Bears were one of the most active teams over the course of the offseason. GM Ryan Poles decided to pivot off Justin Fields in favor of Caleb Williams.

In March, the Bears flipped Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2025 conditional sixth-round pick that could become a fourth-rounder based on playing time.

The former Ohio State product is going to have an open quarterback competition with Russell Wilson for the starting job but the latest news coming from Steelers camp is bad news for Fields.

Seems The Buzz Around Justin Fields In Pittsburgh Keeps Getting Worse

Fields may have trotted into Pittsburgh thinking he would be the starting quarterback but that doesn’t sound like the case.

Mike DeFabo of the Athletic was present at multiple practices and revealed that Fields has struggled in multiple areas while Wilson has flourished thus far.

He then added, “The major opportunity for Fields lies in preseason games. Because he’s still working on processing the game more quickly and his accuracy can be spotty, the former Bears QB doesn’t often shine in seven-on-seven situations.”

The same issues that Fields is experiencing in Pittsburgh are the same problems he had in the Windy City.

The 25-year-old has only completed 60.3% of his career pass attempts while getting into a habit of holding onto the ball. That led to unnecessary hits and turnovers. Fields has 30 career interceptions, 38 fumbles, and has taken 135 sacks in his career.

That led to his downfall and those same problems have gone with him to Pittsburgh. If Fields doesn’t address and correct these faults, his time in the Steel City may be cut short.

The Chicago Bears should have been a playoff team last season. For as much as the Bears’ listing as “in the hunt” during NFC Playoff graphics last December was mocked, fourth quarters not withstanding, the Bears played like a playoff team last year.

Of course, there were the collapses against the Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns, where the Bears blew a two-possession lead in each of those three games during the final quarter of the game. Beyond the collapse, for the entire season, a trend developed for Bears’ games.

The Bears’ team that was on the field for the first three-quarters of the game was far superior to the team that was on the field during the final quarter of the game.

More or less, this is the reason why the Bears emphasized offensive improvement this offseason.

There is a Luke Getsy element to this stat. To Getsy’s credit, his opening script for most games often led to success, where the Bears took advantage of film they’d seen of the opposing team’s defense the week prior. What went wrong for Getsy is that once the script ended, the former Bears’ offensive coordinator had no answer for how to score.
