Royals trade catcher Logan Porter to the San Francisco Giants
OMAHA, Neb. (WIBW) – According to the Royals Player Development account on X, the Kansas City Royals have traded catcher Logan Porter to the San Francisco Giants for cash considerations or a player to be named
Porter, 28, appeared in 11 major league games last year while Salvador Perez and Freddy Fermin were injured. Porter hit a .194 batting average in 38 plate appearances in his brief stint with the major league club. In addition, the catcher had a slugging percentage of .323 and an on-base percentage of .324.
In 138 plate appearances with the Triple A Omaha Storm Chasers this season, Porter has a .319 batting average, 6 home runs, 22 runs batted in (RBI), 22 walks, an on-base percentage of .428 and a slugging percentage of .575.
Porter re-signed with the Royals this past off-season after being non-tendered at the end of the campaign. The right-hander is scheduled to be a free agent in 2030.
