Jets Signing Veteran Pass Rusher with the Dallas Cowboys is set to completed following the official agreement
The New York Jets already had an elite defense, so they made sure to revamp the other side of the field in the offseason.
The additions of Tyron Smith, Mike Williams, and Malachi Corley were expected to make a big impact right away.
Nonetheless, they’re still a defensive team first and foremost, and that won’t change for as long as Robert Saleh is there.
With that in mind, they looked to add even more depth and talent to their pass-rush unit.
According to a report by Connor Hughes of SNY, they’ve signed former first-round pick Takkarist McKinley.
The former Atlanta Falcons player didn’t live up to expectations, but he’ll now get an opportunity to work with one of the best and strongest defensive units in the game.
Notably, this also comes on the heels of speculation about Haason Reddick and his future with the organization.
The Jets traded for the former Philadelphia Eagles star, but he hasn’t shown up in the offseason.
Saleh has downplayed his absence and claimed that he’s going to be ready when the season comes, but there’s speculation about his desire to get a new deal with the organization.
Reddick’s salary for this season is non-guaranteed, and the Jets could opt to just move on from him if he becomes too much of an issue, so it makes sense to stack up more talent just in case.
The Jets are going to go all-in for a Super Bowl ring, and they’ll spare no expense in that pursuit.
