REPORT: The Indianapolis Colts’ Former 5th-Round Pick Suffered a Devastating Injury
The Indianapolis Colts completed their final week of voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) last Friday and are now in mandatory minicamp from Tuesday, June 4 to Thursday, June 6. Unlike OTAs, mandatory minicamp is mandatory, and players get fined if they don’t show up, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.
According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, Daniel Scott ruptured his Achilles during practice last week and will miss the entire 2024 season.
Scott suffered a season-ending injury during last year’s OTAs.
He tore his ACL during last year’s OTA’s in his rookie season and missed the entire 2023 season.
The Colts’ depth at safety got weaker.
Excluding Scott, the Colts currently have seven safeties on their roster, including Julian Blackmon (fifth year), Nick Cross (third year), Rodney Thomas II (third year), Michael Tutsie (second year), Trevor Denbow (third year), Kendell Brooks (second year), and Marcel Dabo (third year).
Of the seven remaining safeties, Blackmon, Cross, and Thomas have started at least one game, Denbow has played six defensive snaps in his career, and Tutsie, Brooks, and Dabo haven’t played a game in the NFL.
How many safeties will the Colts keep on their 53-man roster?
