AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys
HITTER: Shay Whitcomb, INF

Washington Nationals v Houston Astros

May Stats: 25 G, .326 BA/.418 OBP/.642 SLG, 8 2B, 2 3B, 6 HR, 19 RBI, 4 SB
Whitcomb has made some nice adjustments this year and put it all together in April. The 25-year-old had the second best OPS on the team while connecting on 16 XBHs in just 25 games. Overall this year he had 9 HR, 40 RBI and 7 SB in 48 games.

PITCHER: Luis Contreras, RHP

May Stats: 12 G, 0.73 ERA, 12.1 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 15 SO
Contreras was signed to a minor league deal this last off-season and has been great in the pen for Sugar Land. In May, he posted a 0.73 ERA allowing just 8 hits in 12.1 innings, good for a .178 BAA. He also struck out 15 batters.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks
HITTER: Pascanel Ferreras, SS

May Stats: 21 G, .274 BA/.400 OBP/.548 SLG, 3 2B, 4 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBI
Ferreras has made a quick rise this year. He was the last pick of the draft in 2023 and now up in Double-A. Ferreras posted a .948 OPS in May with 10 XBH in 21 games, including 4 triples which leads the Astros system.

PITCHER: Tyler Guilfoil, RHP

May Stats: 6 G, 2.51 ERA, 28.2 IP, 14 H, 8 ER, 10 BB, 25 SO
This was a difficult one between Guilfoil and Bloss, but I gave the nod to Guilfoil. The right-hander posted a 2.51 ERA in 28.2 innings allowing just 14 hits. He held hitters to a .143 BAA and posted a 0.84 WHIP while striking out 25.

A+: Asheville Tourists
HITTER: Luis Baez, RF

May Stats: 25 G, .314 BA/.351 OBP/.524 SLG, 7 2B, 5 HR, 16 RBI, 2 SB
Baez has a decent April but really turned it on in May. The 20-year-old showed off his potential connecting on 12 XBHs, including 5 homers, in 25 games in May. He led the team in RBI during the month.

PITCHER: Jose Guedez, RHP

May Stats: 5 G, 2.11 ERA, 21.1 IP, 18 H, 5 ER, 6 BB, 28 K
Guedez has kind of broke onto the scene this year. He put together a really strong month of May striking out 28 in 21.1 innings and posting a 2.11 ERA. He also limited the walks, allowing only 6, which was an improvement from April.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers
HITTER: Oliver Carrillo, 1B

May Stats: 23 G, .225 BA/.376 OBP/.435 SLG, 5 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 17 RBI
Carrillo was acquired this off-season in a trade and has been one of the better bats for the Woodpeckers this season. While the average was low, he drove in a team high 17 runs in 23 games and had a .376 OBP as he drew 16 walks.

PITCHER: Ethan Pecko, RHP

May Stats: 5 G, 0.86 ERA, 21.0 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 25 K
Pecko was absolutely dominant during the month of May. The right-hander posted a 0.86 ERA while striking out 25 in 21 innings. He held batters to a minuscule .116 BAA and had a 0.57 WHIP as he walked just 4 batters.
