Corey Seager showed his strength against the Arizona Diamondbacks when they chose to pitch to him. Once again, Seager hit a home run on the first pitch after being intentionally walked, helping the Texas Rangers sweep a quick two-game rematch of last year’s World Series.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo acknowledged Seager’s skill, saying, “When he’s hot, he barrels up anything thrown near the zone.”
Seager hit his eighth home run in eight games, while Dane Dunning pitched five scoreless innings, leading the Rangers to a 6-1 victory on Wednesday.
After intentionally walking Seager in the third inning, the Diamondbacks saw him hit another home run in the fifth inning, extending the Rangers’ lead to 4-0.
Dunning praised Seager’s performance, calling it “extremely impressive.” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy also commended Seager, acknowledging his role in the team’s success, saying, “He’s just an incredible hitter.”

The reigning World Series champions, Texas, won their third consecutive game after losing five consecutive series. Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks have lost seven of their last 11 games.
Seager’s impact was evident in both games of the series, as he hit crucial home runs to help his team secure victories.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Seager attributed their success to playing good baseball and emphasized the contagious nature of hitting.
The Rangers played without Marcus Semien in the lineup for the first time in over two years. Semien ended his streak of 349 consecutive games due to injuries sustained in a collision with Adolis García.
