Coventry City hero seals transfer for ex-Sky Blue who had Liverpool trial.
Latest Coventry City news from CoventryLive brings you news of a deal that has been completed by a huge fans’ favourite.
Coventry City hero Michael Doyle has utilised his Sky Blue connections to sign former defender Cian Harries.
The centre-back has put pen to paper on a free transfer although the length of his contract has not been disclosed. Doyle, who skippered Coventry to promotion, is currently revamping his squad at the Cards after they avoided relegation last season.
And the popular former midfielder says the arrival of Harries, who was at Aldershot Town last season, will fit with how he wants his side to play.
“Cian Harries is a great signing for this football club,” he said. “We’ve known him for a long time dating back to our [Doyle and Assistant Manager Ben Turner] time at Coventry. He’s had a great season last year. He’s a ball-playing centre-half and will be a key player in the backbone of how we play.”
Harries, who had a trial with Liverpool, came through the ranks at Coventry where Tony Mowbray described him as a phenomenal talent. He played 17 times before being snapped up by Swansea City who were then in the Premier League.
A permanent move to Bristol Rovers followed in 2019 before he then made the switch to Swindon Town three years later. He joined Aldershot last summer but after 48 appearances and eight goals, he has decided to make the move to join Woking.
