Calvin Ridley’s wild take will have Titans fans believing 2024 is Treylon Burks’ breakout year.

Calvin Ridley believes that Treylon Burks has sky-high potential in the NFL. Ridley compared him to some of the best receivers in NFL history.

The Tennessee Titans have quickly reinvented themselves. Mike Vrabel, Ryan Tannehill, and Derrick Henry were the identity for the Titans for the last several years. However, the team parted with all three this offseason. New head coach Brian Callahan and second-year QB Will Levis will be the new foundation for the Titans. Depending on who you ask, Treylon Burks will be a big part of the Tennessee’s future too.

Calvin Ridley believes that Burks is still a little raw, but that he has sky-high potential in the NFL. He even compared him to some of the best X receivers in NFL history.

“What I see, he’s like Julio (Jones), A.J. Brown, he’s like T.O. (Terrell Owens),” Ridley said. “Dude that big (and) that fast, man? He’s a stud, man. You don’t have to worry about him.”

Burks admits that he’s excited about the additions the Titans have made to the wide receiver room over the past two years.

“Yeah, 100 percent, but it’s fun, just going out there, seeing what they bring to the table and then me bringing my A-game to the table,” Burks said, via Easton Freeze. “So we just go out there and compete together and have fun.”

Earlier in May, Callahan said Burks is “gonna play everything” in the Titans’ offense. Those comments drew some skepticism after the Titans added Tyler Boyd shortly thereafter.

However, it does appears to be the perfect marriage. Burks claims that he likes his fit in Callahan’s offense, comparing it in some ways to the system he played in at Arkansas.

“It’s fun, fast, where I’m used to, similar to what I did in college,” he said. “So just study it, get better at it and have fun with it.”

Ridley genuinely believes Burks could have a breakout season once the mental element of his game catches up to his physical talent.

“He’s just gotta learn how to slow the game down,” Ridley said, “and he’ll be alright.”
