Coventry City will host SV Werder Bremen in a pre-season friendly!
The high-profile friendly match against the four-time German Bundesliga champions will be played on Saturday 3rd August and forms a key part of City’s preparations for the new season.
It will be a 3pm kick-off at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the fixture coming one week ahead of the eagerly anticipated start of the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
Led by manager Ole Werner, Bremen are one of the most famous names in German football and finished 9th in the country’s top-flight in the 2023/24 campaign.
The Sky Blues’ last home pre-season game was in 2021 against Wolves, while Bremen will be the first overseas home friendly opponents at the Arena since we hosted Udinese and Espanyol back in 2007.
