Detroit Tigers Starting Pitcher Reese Olson continues to impress during the 2024 regular season. He put forth a masterful performance on Saturday afternoon at home against the Toronto Blue Jays as Detroit won a low-scoring affair, 2-1. He tossed 6.2 scoreless innings while striking out four. Olson escaped a bases-loaded jam unscathed in the top of the fifth inning by getting Blue Jays Designated Hitter Justin Turner to strikeout and end the threat.
The Detroit Tigers bullpen surrendered only three hits over 2.2 innings in relief of Olson. Olson lowered his ERA to a minuscule 1.92(fifth-best in MLB) following today’s start and picked up his first win of the year. The 24-year old right hander has gotten no help whatsoever from his offense as he has struggled all season to get run support.
