Potential help for Gonzalez?
Wolves and O’Neil must now decide whether to move for a player who has a contract at Talleres until December 2026 and will likely cost in excess of £5m.

That figure is used as a measuring stick courtesy of Wolves having paid €6m (£5.11m) for another Paraguayan winger in Enso Gonzalez last summer.

Since then, the 19-year-old has been limited to eight appearances for Wolves Under-23s and a brief Premier League debut against Crystal Palace earlier this month.

Decisions must now be made over how to progress the youngster’s development given the size of Wolves’ investment, and it is plausible that Sosa may be targeted partly to aid each other’s time in Wolverhampton.
