3 Notes from the Mets getting swept by the Cleveland Guardians.

After dropping two out of three games to the Miami Marlins, the Mets road trip continued as they headed to Cleveland to take on the Guardians.

The Guardians took an early 2-0 lead in game one courtesy of a two-RBI single from David Fry, and that would be all Cleveland needed as they went on to win 3-1.

The Mets bats woke up in game two, but another poor outing by Adrian Houser was too much to overcome, and the blue and orange dropped game two by a score of 7-6.

The Mets jumped out to an early 3-0 lead courtesy of three solo shots in game three, but the bullpen faltered, and the Guardians came from behind to secure the series sweep with a 6-3 victory.

Francisco Lindor has a solid homecoming
For the first time in his professional career, Francisco Lindor stepped onto Progressive Field in front of fans as a visiting player.

Lindor did not let the moment affect his play, going 4-for-14 with a pair of doubles and an RBI while flashing the leather multiple times in the field.

The 30-year-old will hope to parlay this solid series into another one as he looks to turn his 2024 campaign around.

Adrian Houser’s struggles continue

The Mets acquired a ton of starting pitching talent this past offseason, but none of them have struggled to the extent of Adrian Houser.

Houser, who recently returned to the rotation from the bullpen, went five innings against the Guardians, allowing six hits, six earned runs, and one walk while striking out four batters.

David Peterson is nearing his return to the majors, and if Houser can’t turn things around quickly, his time repping the blue and orange may be coming to an end.
