Southampton could end up signing Reuell Walters if the departing Arsenal defender impresses in a potential move to sister club Goztepe, Turkish outlet Fotospor has claimed.
Russell Martin’s side face a winner-takes-all play-off final clash with Leeds United this weekend. The south coast faithful will be travelling to Wembley Stadium in droves as the Saints bid to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Nevertheless, the St. Mary’s outfit will have one eye on summer transfer plans regardless. They’ll likely have plans in place in the event they win promotion and if they come up short.
Now, it is claimed that one man who may end up with Southampton in the long-term is young defender Reuell Walters.
The 19-year-old will be moving on from Arsenal this summer and according to Turkish news outlet Fotospor, Sport Republic-owned Goztepe are keen on a deal. An offer is on the table, and it includes the possibility of a move to the Saints if he can impress in Turkey.
Clubs in The Netherlands and Belgium are also keen, it is added.
