Tottenham want to sign £12m player who Dele Alli thinks is ‘fantastic’.
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing a player who once impressed Dele Alli.
Spurs finished their season with a good win at Sheffield United, but their hopes of making it into next season’s Champions League were dead before a ball was kicked at Bramall Lane.
Ange Postecoglou knows he needs to strengthen his team to achieve that goal next term, and his side have now been linked with a player who knows Tottenham very well.
What Dele Alli once said about Tottenham target Kyle Walker-Peters
Kyle Walker-Peters is no stranger to Tottenham supporters.
The Englishman joined Spurs as a teenager all the way back in 2013 and came through the ranks at the club’s academy. He really impressed at youth level.
Walker-Peters was first given a senior opportunity in a post-season tour in May 2015, but his full debut came in September two years later – against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.
He went on to make 24 senior appearances for Spurs in all competitions, but in the end, Tottenham decided they had no place for him.
After a successful loan spell at Southampton, the Saints signed him on a permanent deal in 2020 for a fee of £12 million (Daily Mail).
After four years at the St Mary’s and a number of incredible performances, Walker-Peters has become a wanted man again, and his former club, Tottenham, are keeping an eye on him.
Reports have claimed that Spurs are considering re-signing Walker-Peters if Emerson Royal leaves the club once the transfer window opens in June.
Tottenham fans already know how good the full-back is, but if they have any doubts, Dele Alli‘s comments about him could convince them.
The former Tottenham midfielder claimed after Walker-Peters’ debut in August 2017, as per Sky Sports: “He is a fantastic player. He’s been working really hard in training.
