Baltimore Ravens hosting Jamal Adams on free agent visit.

The former Seahawks safety has been a free agent since March.

Could Jamal Adams be heading back to the AFC?

The former Seattle Seahawks safety is scheduled to visit with the reigning AFC North champion Baltimore Ravens, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Adams has remained a free agent after the Seahawks released him prior to the start of free agency in March. He spent four seasons in Seattle, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2020, but a litany of injuries largely defined his tenure. Of course, the Seahawks traded Bradley McDougald, two first-round picks, and a third-round pick to the New York Jets, and the return on investment was nowhere near the capital given up.

It’s been reported in recent weeks that Seattle hadn’t completely closed the door on bringing Adams back. However, if Adams did return to Seattle, it would most likely be at linebacker and not as a safety. That would be something given what was apparently discussed when he was acquired.

In case you were wondering, Adams signing with another team will not net the Seahawks a compensatory draft pick. Because he was released and not an impending unrestricted free agent, he was never eligible to gain a comp pick to begin with, and the deadline for any free agent moves to count toward the 2025 comp pick formula was May 1.
