Asking a girl to your high school prom can be a daunting task, but it is apparently a lot easier when you have two-time National League MVP Bryce Harper by your side.
This week, the Philadelphia Phillies superstar took on the responsibility of helping a young man in need. Jake Portella, a senior at Haddonfield Memorial High School, lives close to Harper and had the brilliant idea of asking the MLB player to help him get a date to prom. Harper initially hesitated but decided to help the young man out there and then
“I knocked on his door, he seemed cool with it at first, then he was like ‘can I get your email so we can plan this out?’ and as I was leaving he was like ‘why don’t we do this right now,’” said Portella per FOX29 Philadelphia.
Giulia answered the door herself and was delighted to see Harper. She quickly accepted Jake’s invitation to the prom. The wholesome video which has now gone viral can be seen here.
