Next Chelsea manager: Enzo Maresca emerges as ‘leading candidate’ to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea’s search for Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement is set to gather pace over the next few weeks after the decision was made to part ways with the Argentine.

On Tuesday evening, it was confirmed that the two parties had mutually agreed to part ways after less than one year. Pochettino led Chelsea to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League after winning all five of his final five games with clear signs of progress.

However, it wasn’t enough and Todd Boehly will now search to appoint his fifth head coach under his stewardship. The search is already underway and an array of candidates have already been linked with the post.

Ipswich’s McKenna has become one of the brightest young managers around after leading the Tractor Boys to back-to-back promotions to the Premier League. Maresca, who finished above McKenna in the Championship, has impressed with Leicester City with a playing style likened to Pep Guardiola’s.

Maresca the ‘leading candidate’
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Maresca has emerged as the leading candidate to become the new head coach at Chelsea. The Italian journalist has claimed that his debut season in management has resulted in him being a standout choice.
