“I Feel Like We Can Both Do It All” Las Vegas Raiders Michael Mayer Excited To Play Alongside Rookie TE Brock Bowers.

A lot of the talk surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders offseason has focused on their new defensive additions, but the organization also picked up some key offensive pieces in the recent NFL draft.

This was one of the most talented offensive classes we have seen in years and the Raiders were expected to go after one of the top quarterback prospect. Instead, they took a different route and surprised a few people when they selected Brock Bowers with their first selection. There is no doubting Bowers ability on the field, but the Raiders also have tight end Michael Mayer on the roster.

Mayer, who was a second-round pick out of the University of Notre Dame in 2023, recently spoke about the team adding another tight end and the competition going into the 2024 season.

“He’s fast. He’s got great hands. He can block. He can do it all. I feel like we can both do it all. I think we’re gonna be dangerous,” said Mayer per NFL.com.

The Raiders obviously saw something special in Bowers to draft him with the No. 13 overall pick. The 21-year-old was part of Kirby Smart’s powerhouse at the Univeristy of Georgia and has played alongside some of the game’s best. The versatile tight end can run, catch, block and create space for his teammates in range of ways. He is an exciting prospect that could fit perfectly into head coach Antonio Pierce’s offense.

Along with Mayer and Bowers, the Raiders also have one of the game’s leading wide receivers in the game in six-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams. Mayer said the Raiders offense would be “fun” and it will be exciting to see what this team can do under Pierce’s leadership in 2024.
